Check-in is at 4:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM. You will receive a private keyless entry code before arrival - it activates at 4:00 PM and automatically expires at 11:00 AM on your departure date.

Yes, we have high-speed WiFi throughout the home. It is remote-work friendly, with a dedicated private desk upstairs and a folding desk in the basement for extra quiet.

Yes, it is fully stocked for real cooking and nightly family dinners. You’ll find complete cookware, bakeware, wine glasses, a coffee maker, and all major appliances. Everything you need for a casual weekend breakfast or a full gourmet meal.

Yes! We provide high-quality shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. All bed linens and towels (both bath and pool) are included. There is also a complimentary washer and dryer with detergent, plus essentials such as toilet paper and paper towels.

Are dogs welcome at your 2-acre retreat?
Yes, well-behaved dogs are welcome! Bear House Catskills is a dog-friendly rental with 2 private acres for your dogs to explore. The "fenced-in feel" of the estate makes it a wonderful getaway for pet owners. (Please note: no cats permitted due to allergies). If leaving the property for a walk or a run, dogs must remain on a 6' leash at all times.

Does the pool operate year-round?
The outdoor pool is seasonal (open in summer). However, the hot tub is available year-round and is one of the best ways to enjoy the Catskills in the winter or fall.

Pool: No alcohol, no glass, no pets. Children must be supervised at all times. Hot tub: Max 5 guests, 15–20 minute sessions recommended, and please replace the cover after each use.

Yes, both the indoor fireplace and outdoor fire pit are available year-round. Please use dry natural wood or approved logs only and fully extinguish all fires before going inside or to sleep.

We are in Cairo, NY (Greene County), about 2 hours north of NYC. You are perfectly central: near Windham Mountain, Hunter Mountain, Woodstock, Catskill and Hudson. Minutes from AMTRAK. Local gems like See & Be Kitchen and Old Factory Brewing are just minutes away.

Quiet hours are 9:00 PM – 9:00 AM. No smoking or candles inside. Small gatherings require prior approval (no loud parties). Please bag trash securely in shed bins to deter wildlife. Exterior security cameras are in place for safety (none inside).

Please replace the hot tub cover, close all windows/doors, leave linens on the beds, and place dirty dishes in the dishwasher. We handle the deep cleaning!
