• Kaaterskill Falls (Yellow Trail): 17 mi away. Dogs are welcome on a leash. The gravel trail to the viewing platform is well-maintained. Pro Tip: Keep your dog on a short leash near the falls, as the terrain can be slippery near the edges.

• North-South Lake Campground: 20 mi away. This is the premier spot for variety. Dogs are welcome on all hiking trails (on a 6-foot leash) with proof of rabies vaccination. The "Artist’s Rock" loop offers incredible Hudson Valley views that aren't too taxing for most pups.

• The Windham Path: 12 mi away. A perfectly flat, 1.5-mile gravel loop. This is the best choice for a relaxed morning walk with zero climbing, offering 360-degree mountain views and several access points to a cooling creek.

2. Paws & Pints: Dog-Friendly Hangouts

• Old Factory Brewing Company (Cairo): Extremely dog-friendly. Dogs are welcome both in the outdoor beer garden and inside the taproom, making it a perfect year-round option just minutes from the house.

• West Kill Brewing: A bit further out but worth the drive for the "mountain hollow" vibe. They have massive outdoor spaces where leashed dogs are a common sight.

3. Essential "Pro-Tips" for Your Stay

• The 6-Foot Rule: New York State Parks and local preserves require dogs to be on a leash no longer than 6 feet at all times.

• Tick Safety: The Catskills are a high-tick area. We recommend a "paw-to-tail" check after every hike.

• Bear House Etiquette: While we love your pups, please ensure they are dry before entering the house. We provide extra "dog towels" in the laundry room!
