Check-In & Check-Out

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is at 4:00 PM. Check-out is at 11:00 AM. You'll receive your private keyless entry code before arrival — it activates at 4pm on your check-in date and automatically expires at checkout.

The House

How many guests can stay?

Bear House comfortably accommodates up to 10 guests including infants. Sleeping arrangements include 1 king bedroom, 3 queen bedrooms, 2 Pack 'n Plays, and 1 foldable twin mattress.

Is the kitchen fully equipped?

Yes — fully stocked for real cooking. You'll find complete cookware and bakeware, all dishware and utensils, wine glasses, a coffee maker, and all major appliances. Everything you need for family dinners or a casual weekend breakfast.

Is there WiFi?

Yes — high-speed WiFi throughout the home. Remote work friendly, with a private desk upstairs and a folding desk in the basement.

Is there laundry?

Yes. A washer and dryer are available for guest use.

Pets

Are dogs welcome?

Yes — well-behaved dogs are welcome at Bear House Catskills. The spacious yard and peaceful surroundings make it a wonderful retreat for guests traveling with dogs. Please note that cats are not permitted due to allergies.

Pool & Hot Tub

Does the pool operate year-round?

The outdoor pool is seasonal — open in summer. The hot tub is available year-round and is one of the best features of a winter or fall stay.

What are the pool and hot tub rules?

Pool: maximum 10 guests, no alcohol, no glass, no pets, children supervised at all times, no swimming alone. Hot tub: maximum 5 guests, sessions of 15–20 minutes recommended, no alcohol, replace cover after each use.

Fires & Outdoor Spaces

Can we use the fireplace and fire pit?

Yes — both the indoor fireplace and outdoor fire pit are available. Please use natural wood or approved fire logs only, never leave fires unattended, and fully extinguish before going inside or going to sleep.

House Rules

What are the main house rules?

•     No smoking or candles inside

•     Quiet hours: 9:00 PM – 9:00 AM

•     Small gatherings require prior approval — Bear House Catskills is for relaxation, not loud parties

•     No swimming or skating in the pond

•     Bag trash securely and place in outdoor bins — wildlife is active in the area

•     The home is on well water — please conserve

Exterior security cameras are in place for safety. There are no cameras inside the home.

Checkout

What do we need to do before checking out?

Before departing by 11am, please: replace the hot tub cover, turn off the grill gas, close and lock all windows and doors, leave linens on the beds, and place dirty dishes in the dishwasher. We handle the deep cleaning — these small steps help us prepare the home beautifully for the next guests.
